Freedom isn't free; it's priceless

All to often in the daily grind we tend to forget the wonderful freedoms that we have here in these United States. Even less thought of is the true cost of those freesoms. From the Revolutionary War, to the Civil War, to World Wars I and II to the present day conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan; countless number of young men and women have sacrificed for the greater good.
I am so very grateful to those who have dedicated their lives to the service our country, but in February our family became more personally involved. It was then that my granddaughter married a Marine. Daniels Mains is a good man; I can see the love he has for my Jellybean and his love for his country and his dedication to those with whom he serves. In September he deploys to Afghanistan; putting of a brave face is part of the job of a Marine wife, but in her posts on facebook you can see the concerns and the fears. So let's remember this Fourth of July all of those who have sacrificed for the freedoms we now enjoy and remember those who are left to carry on while they serve. Thank you Daniel and all of your fellow Marines for all you have done and all that you will face in the future.
