Sorry, we're happy with our current vendor!

There is nothing that I admire more than loyalty. I feel it is one of those traits that has taken a back seat in our day of age. But note that I didn't say blind loyalty. That's a horse of a different color. Imagine what our country would be like if we had stayed with the status quo:

Typewriters would still be on every desk.

The milkman would still be delivering milk.

We'd still be manuevering the rabbit ears to get one of our three TV stations in more clearly.

8 tracts....need I say more?

In todays business, loyalties are a prizes commodity, however, don't let your loyalties get in the way of good business sense. If your technology vendor is still offering your business "8 tract" solutions in an MP3 world, then perhaps it's time to take a fresh look at your options.

Ask yourself these questions:

Does your current vendor understand your business workflow and how documents are created, shared, stored and retained?

Has your current vendor taken the time to share with you how his hardware, his service and his applications specialists can provide for you the ability to improve productivity and streamline your business processes?

Does your vendor have on staff application specialists who can work with your IT department should there be conflicts between your software and his hardware? Does he charge you extra for it?

Does your vendor provide you with dedicated production print specialists and trainers?

Certainly these are not all the questions that could be asked, but what it all boils down to is this:

Is your current vendor willing to provide the resources it takes to partner with you to ensure that those dollars spent on hardware and software solutions for your company are dollars well spent, or is your vendor just selling you the same old "8 tract" solutions for your MP3 world?
